Burning incense has been around for thousands of years, a long tradition with the native Americans. While the peoples of central and South America smoke incense they also still today use native resins like the Copal, the Indians of North America use mainly holy plants like the white sages or the sweet grass. The plants will be used nearly always in such a way thereby, like them be harvested and kept so their natural strength is kept, the connection of humans to the realms of the animals for strengthening plants and minerals.

Particularly in the deserts in the west of the USA, as in old times, is Rocky Mountains a variety of different plants. The smoke, which results from igniting the holy herbs, was used early with the natives of north and South America for cleansing air.
